Ogun herdsmen crisis: Gov Abiodun presents report to Buhari

Governor Dapo Abiodun has presented to President Muhammadu Buhari, a report on the farmers-herders crisis rocking Ogun State.

Gov Abiodun said he presented the report to President Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, on Friday.

Sharing photos on his social media handles, Abiodun wrote: “At State House Abuja, I presented the Report on Farmer-Herder Crisis in Ogun State to President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.”

Gov Abiodun did not give details of what was contained in the report submitted to the President on the recent killings in Ogun.

DAILY POST reports that, in the past one week, about a dozen of Ogun indigenes were reportedly killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Imeko, Owode Ketu, Ebute Igbooro, Agbon Ojodu, all in Yewa axis of the state.

On Monday, Gov Abiodun led a delegation to the area to sympathise with victims if the killings, assuring them that everybody who had suffered a loss as a result of the crisis would be compensated.

On Tuesday, Governors Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara were all in Ogun State for a peace parley on the incident.
