Man Utd vs Tottenham: What would have happened if Lamela was my player – Solskjaer
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has said he would have hung Erik Lamela out to dry, if he was his player.
Solskjaer made the comments while speaking to Sky Sports, following their 6-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
United took the lead in the first minute through Bruno Fernandes’ penalty.
However, Spurs fought back, as Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son both scored twice. Serge Aurier and Tanguy Ndombele also got on the scoresheet.
A talking point of the game happened just before half time, after Anthony Martial was sent off for shoving Lamela in the face.
Replays show Lamela had touched Martial first. But the Argentine winger only got a yellow card.
“Lamela must be having an operation in his throat. If that was one of my players I’d hang him out to dry.
“But it’s a bad reaction from Anthony,” Solskjaer said.
