A 40-year-old man, Adeboye Moshood has been remanded by an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over unlawful possession of human parts.

The accused person was said to have committed the offence on February 16, 2021, around 9:00 am at Gbongan in Osogbo.

The prosecutor, Jacob Akintunde told the court that the accused person was found in possession of human parts.

He said the accused person conspired with others still at large to unlawfully interface with the corpse of a human to commit a misdemeanour to wit.

The offence committed contravened section 517, 241, 430 of the Criminal Code CAP 34 Vol 11 Law of Osun state 2002.

Moshood pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge levelled against him.

The defence counsel, Nwoke Kasia prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms and promise to provide reliable sureties.

The prosecutor opposed the bail application due to the magnitude of the offence committed.

In his ruling, Magistrate Isola Omisade remanded the accused person at Ilesa Correctional centre.

He adjourned the case till March 9, 2021, for ruling.
