Boko Haram: Police announces release of burial expenses for Elaine’s officers in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has announced that family members of Elaine’s police officers who died during the battle with Boko Haram between 2013 and 2014 should come for the payment of deceased burial expenses which was released today by the police authorities.

A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus, on Tuesday said, the affected families are to report to the Mechanized Salary Section (MSS) Damaturu, for verification and payment while next of kin are to come along with all relevant documents.

The statement also said the command regrets the delay and enjoins the families to be understanding.

Recall that the war against insurgency has led to several deaths including police officers and soldiers.

Boko Haram had equally claimed the abduction of many in the North East, including the Chibok schoolgirls.
