Benue: Gov. Ortom reacts to accident in Gbatse, issues serious order
The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has sympathized with the families of those who lost their lives in an accident involving a truck and a stationary vehicle in Gbatse, Ushongo Local Government Area of the state.
Ortom also felicitated with the management, staff and students of University Mkar over the death of their lecturers involved in the accident.
In a statement by his spokesman, Tever Akase, the governor urged relevant authorities to investigate the incident.
According to the statement: “Ortom sends heartfelt condolences to families of those who lost their lives when a truck crushed a stationary vehicle with all its occupants yesterday at Gbatse in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.
“The Governor’s sympathies also go to the management, staff and students of University of Mkar who lost two of their lecturers in the accident – Joseph Leva and Moses Tarnongo who died alongside his wife and three children.
“He describes the incident as devastating and urges relevant agencies to investigate the unfortunate development.
“Governor Ortom prays for the repose of the souls of the departed and consoles the bereaved families to look unto God for strength to bear the pain of losing their loved ones.”
